Setting up Mumble server (VOIP Server) Xavior Sep 14th, 09, 10:06 AM #1 (permalink)
Some background info for you guys first.
Mumble server is called murmur. It's similar to vent and TS. in a sense that it's for VOIP. =x

Need help in opening ports and stuff.
My router is TP-link8960N.
My server is running win7.
My server has kaspersky 2009 running.
Before changing to the new router, i was using the free router given by MIO. Had no problems before.

What I have done so far.
I am able to connect to my voip server locally, without going thru the internet. However, connection was refused when connecting via the internet. After placing my server in the dmz instead of connection refused, I am getting a connection timeout error.

On the server, i've turned off my firewall.
On the router, i've placed my computer in dmz. Setup a static IP route and even did port forwarding.

I have also noticed that when connecting locally, the port used was not the server port, hence i've also tried port forwarding those ports but was still unsuccessful.

Any experts here that can help?
Thanks in advance~ =)

How are you connecting to your server via the internet? Through someone else's PC?

Generally speaking you will have trouble connecting to your internet address from a PC on your local LAN.
