M1 Mobie Broadband - Vodafone Mobile Connecting Problem... fengwei Sep 29th, 09, 02:23 PM #1 (permalink)
Hi All,

I've been using M1 mobile broadband service for a while, but I always have problem running their VMC software. Tried M1 service center w/ no cure, thought I should ask here.

I'm using the Huawei K3715 Stick on both my laptop (IBM T41 and HP NC4200, both w/ XP Pro installed) and desktop (Acer Aspire M5800 w/ Vista Home Premium 64bit), both have problem w/ the VMC software. Whenever the VMC is running and the network is connected, I can't start another program (including firefox or even Windows Explorer). I have to disconnect the connection, start the other program, then reconnect, otherwise the PC just hang there, I have to unplug the Stick (to force the disconnection) to make Windows alive again. And it's worse on my Acer, some times Vista just hang there when the connection is on, can't make it alive even after I unplug the Stick. I have to restart the PC

This has been bugging me ever since the beginning (early this year when I started the 4mb plan at the COMEX). I'm not PC illiterate to be honest, and I've tried quite some tricks (by starting as less processes as possible, even disable antivirus software) but still can't solve the problem. I've updated the firmware for the device, upgraded the VMC software to the latest (even the latest full VMC software, not the lite version), my Windows are up to date too...

Wonder if someone else here has the same problem? Or is there any tips/tricks to solve the problem? I brought my laptop to M1 service center, the only things they could do were to upgrade the firmware and software (again) which didn't improve anything at all

Your input will be very appreciated.

Thanks and cheers!

Frank

Yeah I also think could likely be infected with malware and virus that prevents concurrent running of the softwares. Maybe a reformat will help..

I'm using the VMC software too for my M1 mobile BB but no issue

Thanks guys for your replies and suggestions. I do have NOD32 installed on all my laptops and Vista PC, but can't find any virus or malware.

Don't really wanna reinstall the whole thing again, but if that's the only cure, well, I'll have to do it I guess
