What's the difference between 24 Port UTP PATCH PANEL and 24 Port GIGE Switch?

Actually why need router? ain't the switch/panel act as a router already?

No. A patch panel is a dumb piece of equipment. It is unpowered, and is a termination plate for concealed UTP cables. It represents "the other end" of the RJ45 jack in your room.

The network switch is connected to the patch panel to provide connectivity to the RJ45 points in your rooms.

True network switches do not act as routers, although some certainly have the capability (these routing switches however are insanely expensive)

The biggest consumer router I know of has at a built in switch of at most 4-5 LAN points hence the need for an additional switch to support more points. By your own statement you need at LEAST 7. This is not counting the points needed to service wireless APs. You don't need a 24 port switch. A smaller switch 12-16 port switch should service your requirements just as well. Just note that LAN ports get used up real fast.

Add a NAS here, an extra wireless AP there, a dedicated BT box somewhere... you run out real quick.

All you need to do is connect a internal LAN port of your router to the bigger switch to "expand" on the number of ports available to you. The modem provided by your ISP goes into the WAN port as per your typical internet set up.

AP - wireless access point
BT box - Dedicated 24x7 PC used to do p2p. Typically remotely managed using remote desktop or VNC hence removing the need for a screen, keyboard or mouse. Usually also serves as file or media server.

DF

Edit: regarding wireless APs. For landed properties with high ceilings, I'd recommend 1 per floor. If you have a really big semi D or bungalow, you may need to plan for more. Especially if you want wireless access when sitting outside on the porch.

How does a wireless access point look like?

Is BT BOX a seed box? how does it look like too?

Yeh a BT box is a seed box. Wireless AP looks like a wireless router, except it is all antenna with one, sometimes 2 RJ45 jacks for network connectivity.

An example of a business grade AP. Linksys and Dlink have similar products for home use.

btw a BT box in most cases is just an old PC outfitted with a fast network card and stripped down to do nothing but BT. I use a specially configured laptop for this. BTed files are stored on a seperate machine on the network. Specific
files I long-term seed are mirrored on a directly connected 32GB flash disk to reduce wear on the HDDs. Don't really care if a flash disk goes pop. Would be real unhappy however if its 1TB brethren did.

Well, plan properly so you need to do it only the first time. It is a good idea to ensure the trunking is easily accessible in the false ceiling so modifications can be made without hacking concrete. False ceilings are easy to cut and patch, Concrete is messy. VERY messy.

Make sure you have a buried conduit that the contractors can use to drag in the fiber. Your contractor will know what to do.

actually i dun understand how will this increase upload speed when it's the hardware that changes and not the internet upload speed that changes

I'm not sure where you read that a BT box increases upload speed It most certainly does not. The OS can be tweaked a bit here and there to favour network services. But that's about it.
