A truly hands-on experience: a review of the Novint Falcon biffzinker Mar 19th, 08, 03:34 PM #1

Ice feels different than stone. Sand feels different from molasses. I use the orb to move my cursor around the 3D space, and when I hit the virtual sphere on the screen, the controller stops cold. These motors are strong, and provide a very strong sense of physical objects when you interact with them.

Thanks goes out to Ars Technica for the review.

That's just cool. If only it was more common-place and widely supported that would guarantee it being a worthwhile investment.

Looks like BF2 supports this now with patch 1.5.

Is it available locally?

Looking at reviews, and it certainly looks promising! Anyone got any first-hand experience with it? May be getting it soon
