The 4870x2 wins at 2560 resolution in Far Cry 2,Fallout3 and even in Crysis Warhead.which are the games where crossfire scales.
As for COD5 and Dead space, X-fire is not scaling yet....
The Catalyst 8.12 drivers brought X-fire performance to Far Cry 2 Andwith the coming drivers, Crossfire will find it's way to all these new games.
Ohhh BTW, Where's GRID and STALKER benches.......
has GURU3d been told by N-vidia to not include those games in the test because their 295gtx will get owned.........Just wondering...
it's pretty much sums things up. GTX295 is the king of the hill now. As much as i love the rv770xt, you just can't deny the fact that GTX295 is faster. At 2560 resolution its already max the frame buffer limitation of GTX295. But that extra 2gb from radeon also don't mean anything if it runs 25fps only. We'll see more extensive review on january. And nvidia promise $499 for this card and that is already a winner.
i think this will be a driver fight... but these first numbers look really really good. i wonder about the price... and i wonder about the reaction of ATi. talking about the rumors about the refresh of RV770, maybe there will be a HD 4890, or maybe even 4890X2?
LOL cut it out(my fingers itches... I wanted to write something about Mario) coz soon we will see the moderator of this forum asking about flames again
Mario is a nice person() but with lack of sanity
Ati will drop prices, they waited too long for a price cut. They just wanted to milk their cow more
So what, GTX 295 wins the Highest level, but not by a such BIG margin as it was said... and ATI needs to improve their CF scaling because in some games it is horrible. My opinion is that nVidia have the best software team, and ATI have the best Engineers
Let's not forget that the biggest sales are in the 100-300USD zone, not in the 500usd, and in that zone nVIDIA lost it;s place. With let's say 10-15 percent discount for vcard... all 4000 series, nVIDIA will have a black christmas
konstantine has a point here. I recon that he is kind of falling in the ATI's side(sometimes ) but...we all know that nVIDIA still has NDA applied and all the benchies made has to have the game titles that the green team selected.
As Konstantine said... why didn't they tested the Stalker and GRID?
I am no ATI fanboi and nor nVidia's side. I own an 8800GT SSC moded 512 and that only because I bought it@75Euros with 2years warranty
Fourthly, Stalker is a new released game and it's a DX10.1 game why didn't they test it????
And why didn't they test GRID a new title and the greatest racing game where the 4870x2 performs like a rocket...????
What makes u even think that they wont even test it? Heck its still almost a month away from actual release and you are assuming they are trying to hide something?...
I am saying that based on what I see, I wasn't wrong in saying that no amount of reasoning will convince you, look what joke you have created when you suggest so surely that GT206 has 206 SPs from NV... You sounded so damn right about it by coming out with baseless speculation to prove something which there is no link with... So now does the GT206 has 206 SPs?
Anyway I'm not going to waste anymore time on explaining to someone who is virtually immune to reasoning
Anyway back to topic... This awesome card wouldnt have existed if AMD didnt roll out their RV770... We might still be milking on GTX280 for at least another 6 months with 600USD++ price tag...
