AMD-ATI will release R670 graphic card composed by two RV670 cores in next Jan to against NVIDIA GeForce 8800 Ultra.

from my point of view ... ATi is going down soon ... cannot last long one ... they keep on making stuff to beat nVidia ... and nVidia is like owning already ... so ATi should just make one F-ing good GFX to trash the 9000 series ...

Well, its not really a matter of which company would win or lose from our consumers perspective because in the end we always hope that there's competition between the 2 companies so that products get better and more wallet friendly.

i don't know about you guys but i don't think that the company that releases video cards sooner than another necessarily the best one, remember that what really matters is perf./$$$

True, Nvidia might come with a more powerful 9 series... but then, 95% of the CONSUMER market (not even talking about OEM), can only still afford the 8 series.
