Oh, this looks bad.NVIDIA is really not trying very hard. Some would argue that is caused by a lack of real competition from AMD/ATI.Could be...
Falling behind 3870 X2 in Crysis? Oh that's bad.And I can only imagine the pricing on 9800 GX2.If it's a lot more expensive than a 3870 X2 I might switch sides to ATI for a while.

I am still hoping this review isn't the real deal.

those results look fishy. we know how 3870 CrossFire compares to 8800 GT SLI and the race is a lot closer than this. i'll believe it when i see it.

It might be the drivers. It's still a new product.

Give it some time.

If I would like to have the fastest cards around, then I do not want to wait for the drivers.
I have bought R600 because everywhere was said this might be 8800 killer. I had always waited for a new driver. After half a year, I sold it with big loss, bought a 8800GTS 512, and played every game better than on the R600. This looks like just the same. If it lacks the software support, then it's just nothing.

Gawd. Stop reading sites which use timedemo's. 3870 CF results for their Avg FPS are okay, but their min FPS is atrocious. Mmmkay?

Still have to wait for reviews.

This product might do well... or it might fall on its face if nV doesn't get their SLI-in-one right.

Er yeah but I'm talking about 3870 CF, not the 9800GX2. Well let's hope Nvidia doesn't screw this one up, otherwise we won't have something to run Crysis smoothly at high settings and res'.

Historically speaking, SLI has not always scaled as well as CF.

Anyway, we'll see. Once the in-game FRAP caps are out, we'll know the truth.

That may have been the case in the far past, but recently stuff like 3870CF and the 3870X2 have not been performing up to standard. Here's a linkie to a site which does NOT use timedemo's: http://techgage.com/article/asus_eah3870_x2_1gb/

And here's one to a site which USES timedemo's: http://www.guru3d.com/article/Videocards/490/

Nevermind the difference in hardware, since they barely make a diff. But what is important is the MASSIVE difference in the scores. This is why I absolutely HATE sites which use timedemo's, because they mislead people into thinking that this is the performance they'll get in actual gameplay and of course, provides ammo for ATI fanboys to continue to delude themselves that ATI is winning the GPU war. I was once biased to ATI, but they've been disappointing me over and over again. Now, I'm neutral, so don't flame me for being an Nvidia fanboy.
