Good for gamers but bad for benchers. But then again, most people would rather have a card that performs well in games.

That might be a premature assessment. According to this link, the well-known professional overclocker Fugger has snapped up one of these cards and has pushed it to 31,000 3D05Marks and 25,000 3D06Marks on air!! Granted, that was with a DDR3 mobo and CPu run at 4.6 GHz, but still not bad for a lame gx2 setup! Just imagine having two of them!

Edit: With LN2, he managed to squeeze 38,000/29,970 points out of 3DMark05/06!!!

all reviewers that run Lost Planet as part of their testing battery are suspect. it's a crap game and nobody has and runs poorly on all machines. the only reason i could think to use it in a review is because it heavily favors Nvidia.

That was one of the games specifically pointed out in the Nviida review guide that The 3870x2 was supposed to not run well on as well. Need for speed also seems kinda out of place. Normally don't see that one most benches.

3dmark06 is cpu limited at default settings (the overall scores). so a 3ghz cpu hits the wall at about 15k-17k. guys should start using 4xfsaa and at least 1600x1200 for 3dmark06.
