The middle card must have something like 2 months lifespan

Looks similar to that 4x9800GX2 setup some scientists put together, talking about the space between the cards...

Man, as cool as that looks, I'll stick with just normal SLI. Triple SLI isn't even an option at the moment. I think Nvidia need to stop trying to push all these SLI options and concentrate on getting the most out of 2 cards, let alone 3 or 4!

These new cards are totally wrapped up by plastic cover and the only openings of the card that they need for the cards to "breathe" and ensure heat is being transfered out of the casing are the back exhuast of the cards and the fan intake. As you can see, the fans are positioned at an angle that gives it "breathing" space in between, who cares whether there isn't much space between them?
The cooling solution for tri-SLIing 8800GTX will be much worse off then.
If u want to consider the lifespan of the card sandwitched between, users running 8800GTX tri SLI would already have their cards killed off long ago.

FORUM TOPIC: "My sandwitched 8800GTX died running TRI-SLI After running 2 months!!!"
Seen that kind of headlines b4? I haven't. So have U? Yes? Prove it.

it would be hard to make a good heat sink for them since there is so little space.

if you have Tri-SLI, and your 8800GTX in the center fries, you will still have enough money to go out and buy another 8800GTX to replace it, so i don't think you'd be complaining.
Desktop 1:
AMD Phenom X4 9850 @ 2.95GHz | MSI K9A2 Platinum | Crucial Ballistix 2GB DDR2 1066MHz | Thermaltake 680W PSU | Radeon HD 3850 | 500GB + 320GB

Gotta love my second rig:
AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ @ 2.6GHz | EPoX nForce 570 Ultra | G.Skill 2GB CL5 PC6400 | Thermaltake 500W PSU | Sapphire HD2600Pro | 2 x 250GB HDD RAID0

Plastic is a poor thermal conductor, and the gtx pulls air in from the other end (from its sides).
