POV 8800 GT @ 128 Bit, 96 SPs, 48 TMUs, 8 ROPs

Nvidia-partner Point of View (POV) has got a new 8800 GT-modell for few days. This card looks like a normal 8800 GT, but it has got only a 128 Bit-interface, 96 SPs, 48 TMUs and 8 ROPs instead of 256 Bit-interface, 112 SPs, 56 TMUs and 16 ROPs.

While POV tells all other Nvidia-partners will presented the same modells in the next time, Nvidia is very surprised about the POV-product and doesn't know that other partners follow the example.

so this thing will be slower than a 8800gs/9600gso because it has 4 less ROPs and 128bit instead of 192bit. so what exactly is the point of calling it an 8800gt?
