I just received two emails from Crucial and Micron product sales support agents who have confirmed that Crucial Ballistix Tracer DDR3 memory modules are in production and will be released later this month!

I wasn't going to upgrade to Nehalem if Crucial didn't make DDR3 Ballistix Tracers, so Nehalem, here I come!

I'm hoping there will be a 2000MHz SKU. From looking at the engineering confirmation:

"We will be rolling out Tracer versions of all current Ballistix DDR3 SKUs over the next few months."

If I'm not mistaken, they already have a PC16000 2000Mhz SKU:

Obviously it's legal. Nothing in the email says that it must be kept confidential, or that it must not be released before a certain date, etc etc

It's been a month since I've posted this. I just emailed the Micron engineering department regarding the availability of the Ballistix Tracer DDR3 modules. Hopefully they reply soon, stay tuned.

However, it is 'only' a PC3-10600 1333MHz part, rated to run 6-6-6-20 at 1.8V. Available in both 2GB and 4GB. Non-tracer variant also available for the anti-bling group.

But I'll be looking forward to faster rated kits though.

Hope Crucial can come out with one DDR3 12800

You'll be looking at about US$170 and US$330 for 2GB kit and 4GB kit respectively if you get it from Crucial direct, before shipping costs.
