Interesting! I am very curious to see gaming benchmarks. The difference seems to be an extra 200Mhz on the memory. I can't recall what are the exact differences between GDD4 and GDDR3 besides the higher clock.

I think though, that GDDR4 has higher latencies.

I saw it a few days ago on pc's site... and was thinking about the same thing when I saw DDR4.

BTW, does anyone now the technical and performance difference between PCS+ and Play! for PC's 4850?

Those are GDDR5 mah... I remember that back in the 3870 days, the GDDR4 varients are re-selling for same price as new GDDR3 cards.

GDDR4 are more expensive than GDDR3.
I doubt it is even possible to go below SGD250.

gddr4 has no real advantage over gddr3 hence everybody's using gddr5
you could probably earn higher clock speeds with gddr4 but in real world performance it doesn't count much (+200mhz ram is nothing compared to +50mhz gpu clock speed)

f4lcon... always so snappy?

The 45% lees power and better bandwidth will do!... plus ATI has experience with this type of RAM.

The move for GDDR4 is likely for power consumption. There is no significant clock speed advantage for GDDR4 over GDDR3. The DRAM companies have essentially dropped GDDR4 production before it even took off in favor of GDDR5.
