[Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 @ 3.2Ghz] [CM Hyper212] [Asus Maximus Formula]
[Palit Radeon 4850 x2 @ CrossFireX - Catalyst 9.3] [4GB Kingston DDR2-800 @ 1000]
[Silverstone Zeus 560W] [Asus TA-M11] [500GB Seagate SATAII] [500GB Samsung SATAII]
[Razer ProClick Mobile] [Qck mini steel] [Philips 240SW9FB/69]
[Creative T20] [Windows Vista Ultimate] [Xbox 360 controller for PC]
My benchmarks shows 4850 Crossfire runs so much faster than one 4870!

It's a dumbed down GTAIII-era game, with modern graphics. So basicaly... bad. But it has it's good sides too...
Too bad the PC version is such a bust, and true insult to PC gaming (see Rockstar's earlyer release for PC, Bully: Scholarship Edition, another pice of junk).

Also LOL at them only just now releasing ACTUAL settings for graphics in the menu, up untill now, there where only draw-distance and texture detail and filters options... same base graphical detail on all... that + bad code translation to PC = abysmal performance for half of the PCs it ran on.

I had no problem with it.
but do remmember to check/adjust the graphics settings manually before you start playing using the V1.02 patch.

====changes i noticed after patching=====
- some settings (graphics & controls) in game were reset to default after patching

- new auto-configured graphic settings after patching results in my Vram possibly being overrun. (stated as 489MB / 476MB right there).
I don't know if this will cause problems, but i manually adjusted the texture settings to correct this.

- I can now set the resolution to 1920 x 1200.
previously, i could only set to max of 1600 x 1000 resolution
(I'm running a 24" LCD on a 8800GT)

- slightly better looking graphics. (probably because of the new higher resolution setting). Best part is, i don't notice any reduction in speed. So i guess they improved/fine-tuned the graphics engine.

I use the latest 8.12 Hotfix driver.
The problems i face are the following:
1)CrossforeX is not recognised.
2)1007MB out of the total 4GB VIDEO RAM is recognised.
3)The game does not permit to overload the memory. As result i am restricted to 47% view distance.
4)Textures are missing in many cases such as missing heads (only the mouth and the eyes are rendered) missing roads, missing cars (the driver is still there!) and many more...
5)When i press ESC in order to set a route etc the game immediately crashes with a video memory error (the one mentioned in the above article).
Let's hope that 9.1 driver or a fresh patch fixes the problems!
Any suggestions in the mean time are more than welcomed!
