Phenom II X4 800 to 6 MiB L3 cache unlock KonKorT Mar 5th, 09, 12:55 AM #1

According to user reports you can get 6 MiB L3 cache by buying a Phenom II X4 800 processor with only 4 MiB L3 cache. CPU-Z, BIOS and Rightmark shows 6 instead of 4 MiB L3 cache.
Up to now it is unclear how you can unlock the 2 MiB L3 cache. There is not found a Bios option yet.

So if you buy a Phenom II X4 800 processor, perhaps you get a model with 6 instead of 4 MiB L3 cache.
Now it is sure that AMD not only abstain laser cut by disabling cores, L3 caches, too.

Uhm... why? It's not like some damn micro on-die memory can ever be "defective" and the other stuff around it not.
