That 6%+ doesnt mean the overall perfornance but that rv790 works more effectiv. So 6% more effektiv per clk + higher clks = 20-30% faster than rv770.

PC Games Hardware also overclocked the memory, by quite a bit (from 975MHz to 1100MHz) in those benchmarks. And the one test where it did show a 33% improvement was in Far Cry 2, at 1920x1200, with 8x AA turned on: a test that would be very influenced by the massive increase in memory bandwidth. The higher the resolution and the higher the anti-aliasing used, the more that having higher memory bandwidth will improve your framerates. So ... I'm still calling BS on the improved stream processors rumor.

NextGenGamer does have point, but the 4890's memory is running 22% faster while the core runs 13% faster. Those too don't get added in order to give you a ~33% difference. So there's definitely something esle going on in the core!

Also Crysis at 1280x1024 shows exactly the same thing. Improved shaders! At higher resolution the shaders are not enough because there is more texturing or raster operation power needed!
