2 x 4770 beat GTX 285! Monstru Apr 28th, 09, 09:23 PM #1

Well, as you know, today is 4770 day, and all the internet is filled with reviews and tests. As you can see from many reviews how this little beauty compares to most of the cards available on the market, but in this one you can find some CrossfireX performance vs much powerfull and expensive cards. And the truth is...the performance of these little cheap puppies is unbelievable. 2 x 4770 in CrossfireX manage to defeat Nvidia's flagship single-GPU, GTX 285, and I personally find that mindblowing. While some games are still buggy (World in Conflict for instance gives an unatural boost in CFX vs Single 4770), the conclusion is not at all hard to draw. The new best-buy is here, and it can offer good performance in most games, for a very low price. It looks like a good long summer for ATI.

strange results. if 2 4770 match 285 and gts250 butcher 4770. then 2 gts250 > 285???? i don't think that is the case?

Not sure if the reviews are rigged. Hopefully either our local webbies will review the cards and show us reality.

and the HD4890 is butchering the 9600GT.

^^^ also not exactly a good comparison now is it

it's HD4770 vs. 9800GT and the HD4770 wins. Period.

also, have a read

As for the competition, the 4770 comes out on top in the games we tested. The more expensive GTS 250 leads in Call of Duty World at War, while the 4770 blows the doors off everything in Age of Conan. As for the other benchmarks, they come out pretty close with the 4770 generally ahead. But the clencher is FarCry 2 performance which shows the Radeon HD 4770 leading the GTS 250 fairly well in a heavy hitting graphics engine.
