The company also plans to cut the price of the HD 4890 from US$249 to US$199 as well as lower the price of the HD 4870 by US$30-50, according to market sources in Taiwan.
The sources have also revealed that due to low yields of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company's (TSMC's) 40nm process, AMD's ATI Radeon HD 4770 GPU is still unable to enter mass production.
AMD has refuted the market speculation of a production issue with the HD 4770, while confirming that it has approved price cuts for HD 4850 and 4670 graphics cards, but it noted final pricing is decided by card vendors.
