I was very skeptical about this Hydra chip from the start, and I become more skeptical these days actually. The major issue with crossfire and SLI is the driver support. If Hydra continues to use a game-specific driver approach, their have an exponentially more difficult issue than ATI and NVIDIA alone.
Sorry, I meant the VIDEO OUTPUTS, not the graphics cards.

"At a high level what Lucid's technology does is intercept OpenGL/DirectX commands from the CPU to the GPU and load balance them across any number of GPUs. The final buffers are read back by the Lucid chip and sent to primary GPU for display. "

Meaning the chip would work with Direct X 12,13,14,15 it doesn't need to know anything. It just transmit data. The chip sends this data through the pci-e so it should be great based on theory. but they are already working on a generation 3 chip so something must need tweaks.

i know! talk about disappointing...i've been waiting for it to drop for ages, and the day its supposed to launch, they go and pull this kind of stunt. i guess this is one example of the hype getting the better of the facts!

This delay sucks balls.

I am not waiting anyway. My maximum wait time for the new Core i7-860 rig, is until the fermi or the dual fermi card comes out.

haha, I can wait for i7 930 then!!

such delays doesn't make Lucid a convincing product though, seems like the whole thing is too good to be true....

I think they wanted to finish the Multi GPU configuration drivers before releasing to public as the drivers are not fully polished.

Nvidia crushes MSI's Lucid based board (?) [SA] - VRForums - IT & Singapore Lifestyle Community

maybe the mobo is actually on track, but there are speculations that NV spoiled the launch.

d*mn you, NV!!

although it is a necessary move to protect its business.
