They are both in faul if I don't get my order. It's just that if I curse at my local shop, noone will know what I'm talking about, but everyone knows AMD!

Anyway, as you saw in Xbitlabs, the price increase is official!

Well, you can come over here. You can just walk into a store here and grab 2x HD5850 off the shell.

Anyway, AMD have probably finished the partially faulty RV870 so they are putting perfectly good RV870 into the HD5850 hence the increase in costs?

Official statement or it didn't happen. Also, why would such moves surprise anyone anyway? nVidia is going for another market all togheter.

AMD has gotten on my nerves, too much already. Screw you AMD.
Nerd rage!!!...

Wow, chill the hell up.

I take that back, I think neutral self-righteous product-taunting "careful" spenders are the worst. Trolls and fanboys still rank up pretty high tho. Impulse buying then outrage... yeah, we're all healthy human beings.

One has the right to defend his wallet, no? Not buying, is not an option some times.

Remember that HD 5850 is far from the only card that uses GDDR5. HD 4870x2, HD 4890, HD 4850 and HD 4770 all use GDDR5 and with lower profit margin than HD 5850. I bet that you won't see their prices going up anytime soon
