it should be for very budget or very low cost HTPC.

For that price, spend abit more for 22w dual core 3250e. The 2nd core really makes a big diff.

Frankly, I think an Athlon x2 is very well priced already. I rather spend a little more and get the x2. But if the power consumption on the Sempron is low, then it could be a very good alternative to an Atom power system.

Power saving rig: HP TX2028AU w/4GB ram and 500GB Hitachi 5K500.

ya in the future power source is a big headache so does the cost remember to buy things that use less power
