Nvidia-CEO Jen-Hsun Huang has talked about the next Nvidia generation "Fermi", when he has published revenue and earning.
Huang says that Fermi will be a really new architecture and that they have big plans with Geforce, Quadro and Tesla in Q1/2010. You find the quotes at the following link.

"There is -- and the enthusiasm behind Fermi, our next generation GPU architecture, is just out of this world. I mean, it’s just way over the top. And the reason for that is this is because the first brand new architecture we have created in four years and instead of an incremental change to DX11, this is a fundamentally new architecture and the performance is fabulous."

"And relative to the competition, the market has really spoken -- although it’s a fast chip, it’s not that fast and it is basically an RV770 with DX11. And I think that you could incrementally make changes for a number of years but certainly not forever and we are going to really change the marketplace going forward with Fermi and so that’s our focus and we are trying to get it shipped as soon as possible. The demand is really, really strong for it and we will tell you about all the great graphics features when we launch."
Sure, the enthusiasm about Fermi is truly "out of this world". Because here on mother earth, Fermi isn't around yet. And nobody knows what "fabulous performance" is in store yet. All we have right now is some vague promises and empty words.

It reminds me a bit of Hector Ruiz before the launch of Phenom. Let's hope it's not the same.

I always say, "show me the product before talking big." You are right to say that most company does that.

How does Hardware-Infos know that A2 is the final silicon? Every logical bit of news up until this point has stated that Fermi will release in late November / early December, even if that means launching in extremely limited quantities. Given that A1 silicon was taped out back in July, it seems probably that A1 silicon will be implemented in the first batch.

I guess "every logical bit of news" comes exclusively from a FUD factory?

If Fermi really taped out in July, isn't it weird that they couldn't even have a functioning card to show to the world a few weeks back?
But of course, how can master Fud go back on his words now...

Tape out does not mean full production......It only mean they have got the design ready and the first prototype wafer is ready to be fabricated. Its not possible for the first prototype to be shipped as final product. After testing the first piece of wafer then they will make some adjustment here and there before they proceed with the revised specs and if everything goes well then they will proceed to ramp up production. If not then there will be a 3rd version, if the 2nd version is being shipped then its pretty good for nvidia already.
