Whoops. Maybe they missed like the most anticipated game of 2007?

btw, socket 1156?!?!?!?

not 1336?! isn't this supposed to be like an extremely high end solution?

Ditto. Exactly what I have been asking around on the forum!
Why is it not used on the high end socket 1366?
I just might buy one if its on 1366 platform.

No way am I touching the 1156 platform.
The dual channel bandwidth is just not worth it.
And I am going straight to triple channel when I do.

I think you may want to reconsider and read a couple more reviews. The tripple channel memory controller is a joke! Not to mention that you end up with 90W higher idle when a bloomfield is overclocked compared to a Lynnfield!

If scaling works as promised with the Lucid chip, it'd be a better fit on the socket LGA 1156 platform due to the limited number of native PCI-E lanes.

I'm still not sure how multiple Lucid chips on a motherboard would function. That's one of the reasons why we haven't seen a socket LGA 1366 version yet. The X58 chipset allows for 36 PCI-E lanes. The Lucid Hydra chip uses 16 which would leave 20 lanes left over from the X58 chipset. A motherboard manufacturer could provide two PCI-E 16x slots from the Lucid chip and then another PCI-E 16x from the rest of the chipset lanes. However, that configuration just gets messy from a support standpoint. Another alternative would be to incorporate two Lucid chips for four PCI-E 16x slots that is equally messy in terms of getting everything to work. Using those 20 remaining lanes for say 8x and 4x slots are possible and side steps support issues.

what a let down, Crysis is not in the list.

so if Lucid doesn't support a game, can SLI/Crossfire kick in then?

what it means when they say: " These games are verified with HYDRA driver 1.3.105 by Lucid. The games that are highlights (Bold) are common to all confgurations." ?

I saw games in bold so?

How I wish the scaling works natively. Sigh.

If I have understood correctly, from previous articles, enablind and disabling the hydra is as easy as right clicking on the taskbar icon and selecting enable or disable. A system restart may be required.

I wonder what Vantage's score will be with Hydra on/off. They didn't even give us this. But all in good time I guess. No wait a minute. Better make it 3dmark 06 since vantage scales very nicely anyway!

No 1336 cos this socket never exist. Stock for stock, a 1156 i7 860 is faster than a 1366 i7 920.
Intel i7 2600K . Asus Sabertooth P67 . Gigabyte HD6970 . Soldam FC500
