Fudzilla's sources claim the Geforce GTX 480 will end up at a mammoth TDP of close to 300W. To put this in context, ATI's dual-GPU HD 5970 uses about that much power - with a TDP of 294W. The slower GTX 470 is rumoured for a 220W TDP. That is a massive 80W difference, and it is unknown how crippled the 470 will end up being if it is indeed 220W. Both cards are expected to ship with 6-pin + 8-pin PCIe power configuration.More next page.

Actually its not impossible. In fact most will also understate their true TDP.

Well Fudzilla also states that GTX 480 will be "faster than HD 5870 in some cases".

Not a lot of good news are coming out of the green camp right now... Stay tuned for the "launch" in 3 weeks.

well if the TDP is indeed 300W.. then i guess they'll call it PCI-ESPRESSO lol..
