Cooler Master Elite 430 Case Review batuchka Aug 8th, 10, 11:41 AM #1

Cooler Master Elite 430 ATX Case Review
Quote:
We’re sure not too many people reading this article will have much interest in computer cases that cost below $60 but that’s simply because this category has been left nearly barren when it comes to quality and features. Somehow though, Cooler Master has effectively released a product that turns the entire lower-end enclosure market on its head. A quick glance at the Elite 430’s direct competitors reveals a list of bland, windowless and featureless cases which do nothing other than to make this enclosure look like a diamond in the rough.

Nearly everything about this newest iteration of the Elite family makes us wonder how it can retail for a sub-$60 price. It features tool-less drive installation, more graphics card space than any ATX-sized case should rightfully have and a sensible layout that aides in an easy installation process. One thing that particularly suck in our minds was how good Cooler Master’s pint sized case looked with an all-black interior. It also routinely snubs higher-end cases in the cooling department and makes Antec’s much-loved $80 Sonata Pro look like an overpriced lump of coal.

Yeah its a nice casing, im using too. But i think the new Coolermaster casing is more worth it, for the same price. Same design too. Black interior, cable management, bottom psu except they have more fan holes and a clear transparent side window.

The 430 doesnt have the hole for wires to hide at the back of the mobo tray, not much cable management to do.

a V8 would not fit in. i assembled a rig for my friend using a Hyper Tx3 which is abt 135mm tall, and the side panel barely fitted. The V8 is 161mm tall, so i think it wouldnt fit at all. need confirmation from bros here though

no a v8 can fit just nice, i fitted mine with hyper 212(note that its 212 nt 212+) 212+ is a bit shorter at 158.5. the 430 elite can take 163mm hsfs, which in this mine is 160mm and v8 is 161.1mm. but 430 cant fit a v6gt as its 165mm. pls dun get the notion that a lower numbering=smaller hsf (v8>v6gt is wrong)
