A Singaporean, Mr Hodge is a Protestant and married with two children.

As part of the selection process, Mr Hodge was interviewed initially by the Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) Principal Selection Committee, and upon his return to Singapore, was interviewed by the combined Anglo-Chinese School Board of Governors and the Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) Board of Management. Both boards voted unanimously to appoint Mr Hodge as Principal of Anglo-Chinese School (Independent).

Mr Richard Seow, Chairman of the Anglo-Chinese School Board of Governors and Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) Board of Management said, “After an extensive and thorough search, Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) Board of Management is pleased to have identified a candidate of Mr Hodge’s background and qualifications to lead the school. We are confident Mr Hodge will continue to build on its strengths and successes and take the school to the next level under his stewardship.

The Board would also like to recognise the partnership and support of the Ministry of Education in the search for Anglo-Chinese School (Independent)’s new principal. In addition, we would like to record our sincere appreciation and thanks to Mrs Fanny Tan, Principal (Acting) of Anglo-Chinese School (Independent), for the stellar job she has done in leading the school during this interim period,” Mr Seow continued.

Mr Hodge said, “Serving as Principal of Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) is a rare privilege. I am thankful to the Board for their unanimous support for this appointment. My immediate task is to learn from and connect with the Anglo-Chinese School family so as to better understand the hopes and aspirations they have for the school and our students. I look forward to working with the school community and to drawing on my professional experience as an educator to move the school forward.”
