GIANT 'sperms' chased 'embryos' around Raffles Place on Wednesday at the launch of a survey to find find out young women's attitudes towards contraception, and how they practise it.
About 1,000 women aged 20 to 35 will be polled over three months at various companies, tertiary institutions and St James Power Station. The results of the survey by the Obstetrical and Gynaecological Society of Singapore will be released in the final quarter of this year.
The society said that Wednesday's 'chase scene' was also meant to emphasise the need for contraception in preventing unwanted pregnancies.
In 2006, 12,032 women had abortions, 550 more than in the previous year. This was the first time in more than 20 years that the number has grown.
