Bomb blast kills one in Nepal
KATHMANDU - AT LEAST one person was killed and another injured in southwest Nepal on Monday when a bomb exploded inside a government building, police said.
The explosion occurred at the office of the transport management department in the town of Nepalgunj, 350 kilometres south-west of Kathmandu.
'One person died on the spot and another one was injured in the blast on Monday afternoon,' Pradip Kumar, a local police officer told AFP.
Nepal's south, known as Terai and dominated by the ethnic Madhesi community, has been the scene of sporadic violence since a peace deal was reached between former rebel Maoists and the government in late 2006. -- AFP
