Acer RAM upgrade and Battery questions tuduoo Jul 20th, 09, 09:56 AM #1 (permalink)
Hi,

I just got a Acer aspire one AO531H netbook. But i'm considering of upgrading my ram from 1gb to 2gb.

Where can i do it and how much would it be? Acer charges $89 for it.

Or can i go to places like sim lim to upgrade? Must it be genuine Acer parts?

Also, 3 cell battery pack can last how long before need to charge? Whats the diff with 6 cell battery pack? I know 6 cell can last longer but how much longer?

Thanks a lot!

6 cell battery can be used longer than 3 cell but how long the battery can be used depends on what application you use while using laptop.

About RAM upgrade, i prefer buy on ACER since laptop parts are more sensitive than desktop PC. Not genuine memory can bring more trouble.

Use CPU-Z to check ur ram speed. then open the laptop(use your user guide) and buy another stick. (it will definitely cost less then $89 and you can ask a friend to install it (user guide again or the booklet that comes with kingston rams) or i believe the shop you bought the ram from will help you install. You do not need acer parts. any brand rams will do. just for reference to cost, i bought my stick of 2gb PC2-5300 667mhz at $37.

There's a guy on HWZ who said he can change my ram for $60. Is that a decent price?

So its not necessary to use genuine Acer RAM? Won't have any complications?
