please help choose which sony vaio to buy jsy982002 Sep 10th, 09, 08:55 PM #1 (permalink)
hi to all!

I am currently decided to buy an ultraportable sony vaio.
Currently looking at the Vaio TT and the future Vaio X

Is it worth it to wait for the X? well i know the weight and form factor is good but since no specs are released yet and with the suspicion of an intel atom would be used. Don't think if it would be worth the wait and money.

Please help decide since the Vaio TT are slowly disappearing

thanks!

Vaio X is another one of those Atomic abomination that Intel is shoving down consumers' throat. If you want value, lightweight and performance, why not check out something worthwhile, ie. something with a graphic chip? Asus N10J has the looks, lightweight, long life, and most of all, Nvidia ION chipset. HP's DV2-1133AX has dual core, ATI 3410, lightweight, pseudo-MacBook look, screen size, and comfortable keyboard.

You can't tell me that with all the choices out there, all you can think of is the Sony brand name and the designer looks. Are we shopping for a handbag or a laptop?

What's wrong with choosing a netbook/notebook based on brand and/or looks ? For some, it's really more of a fashion accessory than a technological device. Not everyone's a geek or nerd.

actually one main reason for choosing sony is the non glossy screen and non glossy body. Really hated those things that currently almost all notebook manufacturers are adopting. This greatly reduced the possible number of notebooks.

Because of that...my choice was to go for sony and of course great looks! =D nyway...decided for the Sony Vaio Z since it also lightweight and good performance. just waiting for windows 7 release to see any possible refresh.

I have been using Z, definitely much better than the netbooks or even notebooks.

Given the highend specs, even the ones at $2799, you are getting a good deal. Try configuring a Dell with the same specs and compare...

I think you can try looking for the older TZ series, I know there are quite a few dealers clearing off old stock, brand new sets, the price is very attractive.

If you are concerned about getting a good deal for an ultraportable Sony then TZ is an excellent choice.

sony sz is rounded and valuish.
