Need to get a netbook by sunday. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Fizban Oct 1st, 09, 07:54 PM #1 (permalink)
Just looking through the threads today and because of circumstances I need a netbook asap, so I'm still quite clueless.

The main purpose of the netbook would be:
Viewing pdf files
Ppt
Word
Surfing the net

and I would really like it if it can play videos. If possible 720p .mkv animes?

Because I would be doing quite a lot of work on word I need the resolution as high as possible, don't want to be scrolling too much. So if possible a 768 resolution netbook?

Weight, ideally below 1.35kg? Preferbly something with Led screen and design is not too ugly? haha

The only one so far I've found that kinda meet my requirements is this:

http://www.acer.com.sg/acer/product....rAjaxHistory=0

Is there anything else out there that I might've missed that's quite similar? I really like the red version for the acer.

Any input would be greatly appreciated. (btw how much does 1gb of additional ram cost?) Thanks!

The above would cost me $700. That's pretty much my budget. Since I'm using this for a lot of typing, the keyboard must be as close to full size as possible.

maybe you can consider the hp mini note too

Go for the Acer AO751h. 1366x768 resolution, GMA500 hardware decode for HD movies & big keyboard. Really nothing much that comes close at that price. Oh, do shop around, $699 is the RRP, possible to get slightly better deals.
