Need recommendation for laptop Z_Dash Oct 8th, 09, 08:55 PM #1 (permalink)
Kinda lost touch with laptop.
Tried browsing thru manufacturer websites like hp or dell but couldn't find anything matching.
Not looking for netbook or ultraportables as need processing power for photoshop/autocad/games.

Core2Duo >2.26ghz
>=2gb rams
Delicated graphics ATI/nVidia (no GMA x4500 etc)
<2kg weight

Looking price range around $2000ish.
Anyone can recommend some market favourites?

Not sure if you are looking for one around 2kg or a lot lesser than 2kg.
You can look at LG P300U with around SGD2K budget.
More important specifications:
  • Intel® Core™2 Duo Mobile Processor T9300 @ 2.5Ghz 6MB L2 Cache 800Mhz FSB
  • Intel® PM965 Express Chipset
  • Intel® Pro/Wireless 3945ABG
  • nVidia® GeForce® 8600M GS 256MB GDDR3
  • 13.3" WXGA(1280x800) Glossy LED Backlight
  • External optical disk drive
  • 1.6kg+
HDD and RAM are easily upgradeable.
Some sources state that the graphics uses DDR2, but I can confirm it's GDDR3 cos I got the T8100(2.1Ghz) model.
Horlick and Mocha powder are great tools of disguise.
They make people look better in certain lighting conditions.

Sorry. Never give you the link. LG P300
The alphabet behind the model is for variants of the specifications.
The chassis, mainboard, screen and major components are the same.
But if you are looking at nearer to 2kg, then there are a lot more models to choose from.
For example:
  • Acer 3810/4810/8371 series
  • Asus U6V series
  • Sony VAIO SR series
Horlick and Mocha powder are great tools of disguise.
