i'm thinking about getting a new i7 laptop and have a few questions that someone might be able to answer..

ASUS G51J-A1

my question is about the memory config.. it was my understanding that ddr3 memory was a triple channel affair... coming in configurations of 3gb or 6gb for example..

this lappie comes with 4gb.. so i'm wondering what the story is about that?

actually it will also work with 1x ddr3, its just the triple channel vs double channel vs single channel.

if the laptop have only space for 2 slots, then it can only do double channel.
