Hi

I don't quite understand your post, it is a wish list? I understand that the configurations availabled in Singapore does not match your description:

1. No 3G option for Singapore models.
2. Only the Z530 1.6G (P15) & the latest N280 1.66G (P25) come with SSD, the Z520 1.33G (P13) comes wih only HDD. The other model P23 does come with Z530 1.6G CPU and with HDD.

Need P25G Recovery Discs scorch1971 Oct 7th, 09, 09:57 PM #212 (permalink)
Dear Bros,

I was having trouble burning the recovery discs for my P25G and was wondering if anyone is willing to help me burn a copy? Sony can reinstall for me but it means leaving my set with them for up to a week. Very happy running Windows 7 now but would like recovery discs just in case. Will pay you reasonable coffee money for your kind help. Please SMS 93660622 if you can help. Thanks!

VAIO P windows 7 drivers and utilities now available rokugo Oct 28th, 09, 11:18 PM #213 (permalink)
For VAIO P owners whose models are not eligible for the "free" Windows 7 upgrade discs, you can still do your own upgrade. Sony SG has just posted the Win7 upgrade drivers and utilities:

Hmm to be frank, whatever brand of laptops you buy when u go back to the original said manufacturer for RMA or hardware repairs, they would definitely quote you much higher than the current market rate compared to what those third-party vendor shops can offer to you for hardware repairs, this is probably a well-known fact which I think alot of us know and acknowledges as well, so I think it's quite unfair to push the blame totally to Sony?

Besides, as far as I know when I checked with my japanese friend, back in Japan SonyStyle JP offers this special service for those who customise their own VOM (Vaio Owner Made) VAIO laptops, apart from their domestic 3 year warranty they also offer you an additional accidental damage Wide coverage warranty (for an additional fee of course) if accidental damage such as water, fire, surge, flood damage happens your VAIO laptop in any given scenario, like for example you accidentally spill your coffee or water on your laptop and it gets damaged. Sony will absolutely repair for you free.

While it's true the above only applies to SonyStyle Japan VOM-only purchases, I think this kind of manufacturer warranty is kinda hard to match, furthermore Sony has been improving and with the introduction of the Vaio X series, I noticed they have included overseas international warranty as well which means no matter where you purchased, you will be covered for 1 year in your own country's Vaio service centre.

Anyway, a Vaio P owner (P90NS japanese VOM set) reporting here.

I am an owner of a badly trashed Sony Vaio VGN-FW36GJ... Previous owner
had abused it... Very nice laptop though, I am seeking parts, so any owners
with similiar model or actual (damaged or spoilt). Dun throw away!

SMS me @ 96702553, I'll consider buying your spoilt laptop...
