I was thinking of purchasing a Bokken for just training but i am not sure where to buy one, i was searching online for one that i liked and i found one here. But i am not sure if the Singapore allows a wooden "stick" to be brought in.

Enlighten me anyone?

You can buy them locally if I recall since, NYP and NUS have their own kendo clubs. My friend was in one and he was required to get a bokken for training.

Hmm. I think you need to clarify with the police regarding the importation of a bokuto. Not sure if it is classified as a weapon.

Bump, for people who are interested in where to buy a kendo or a bokken, they can be bought at marina square. Level 3.

There is a martial arts shop at marina square...

It sells all sorts of martial arts stuff including Sai, Shuriken, Kendo stuff, fencing stuff, silat / TKD / boxing stuff..

Ok there is a shop specialising in this gear on the top floor of Plaza Singapura. They sell real katanas and replica arms too. Fully licensed.

Bokken costs $25. Real handforged katana in excess of $3K
