An overpriced item story alphadog Sep 8th, 09, 10:56 PM #1 (permalink)
My wife is very fond of Doraemon stuff and would get hold of them if the price is reasonable. One day while walking pass a puzzle shop in jurong point, we saw a very nice 3D puzzle doraemon sphere thingy.

The price SGD 500. Its consist of 60 pieces and is an import from japan product.

To us, its definitely not a sum of money we can burn, but we do take note of its jap website. Just want to know how much it is in japan.

Guess what, web site list it as 1890 Yen, which works out to be about SGD 30.

As a business owner, i understand there is lots of cost invove here like shipping, shop front, employees etc. but selling a product more than 10 times its retail price is just profiteering.

anyway, when you are paying for something real ex from overseas, do check out its actual price if possible.

O_O That is one huge difference in price...

Thanks for the link btw... I've seen the 3D puzzles on display, but I've never asked about the price. So expensive!

indeed, it is kinda overpriced if the item is still available in retail. buyers have to beware of such things, usually cases like this are due to inexperience as some did not check around.

shipping aint that expensive.

however, there are some items that limited in stock and already not in production hence the spike in price.
