new phase change system in the works Weapon Feb 8th, 04, 02:10 AM #1 (permalink)
nothing too crazy, just the new phase change loop I am building for the primary computer in my office.

this one is being designed to run 24/7 so I am taking my time with it.
There is a new evap housing design in the works and several other this and that parts that I am having to build from scratch.

pic of the current progress:

the wooden tray it is mounted to will later be replaced with aluminum.

n. bridge cooler for the new system:

the weapon nf7 n.bridge waterblock.
80w pelt and double insulation.
the craptacular pleximount in that pic is just for testing purposes - it will be replaced with a much better mount before the final installation.

lol...I think they are implementing a "no unnecessary mods to the computers in the office policy".

I said this one is going in the office -- actually, it is my office at home so they cannot prohibit my evil overclocking hands going to work on this one.

I tried to talk them into letting me build a massive watercooling system that would cool all of the computers in the office from one centralized massive array of pumps and heatercores but they vetoed me.....the bastages.

looks better now. I broke out the auto grade paint and I am making the sides on the condenser black metallic like the finish I put on the last heatercore I did...it is looking bad@$$ now.

same finish as this:

dammit dammit dammit!

looks like the condenser has a leak in the connection at the joint between the bottom condenser tube and the external fitting (i.e. the same place that prommies were breaking at during shipping)

I suppose I will just cut out the bottom tube and rebraze the connection on the opposite side of the condenser....that or replace the entire bottom tube. phase change is always such a pain in the @$$....gotta love it.
