I don't think it will help much. nF3 based mobos have PCI locked by default IIRC.

Should be the same for nF4 also. VIA has not been supporting OC much these days.

You can try set FSB to 299 and lock AGP at 74MHz. My Venice is setup this way. FSB300 is unstable.
If you have a Venice 3000+, you need a watercool to get it to 2700-2800. otherwise it's only stable at 2550-2600 with stock fan.

And don't use HTTx3, it's buggy. Use HTTx1 is enough.

Yeah the AV8 is a finicky board in terms of locks. Do what Shamino said, lock it at a slightly higher freq and it ought to be fine.

Or you can wait a lil bit for the DFI nf3 S939 board to be released....supposedly within a month.

Under right RAMs this board should hit a 3000+ at 2.4 GHz no problem.

Did you set AGP to 74Mhz fixed? That can get you higher.

My settings is 299x8.5 = 2550MHz, for your reference.

The northbridge is passive cool and that might limit overclock too. Need to find out about this.
