How to cool down overheating PC? DiGdUb Jun 7th, 05, 10:29 AM #1 (permalink)
my pc restarts when it gets too hot. running on amd xp 2500+ overclocked to 2ghz with gigabyte 3d rocket cooler. not too much right? also, my geforce 6600 also gets hot quickly. it is overclocked from 300/500 to 355/535 with stock fan and another fan underneath it to draw hot air out. also not too much right? even with the casing open, the pc will either restart or hang when playing games. i have to blow fan and on air-con on the pc so that it runs stable. if not, i can feel hot air inside the casing. any idea how to cool down my overheating pc?

as you pointed out... better ventilation would help... more fans on the casing dude!... or move to w/c..

is your casin really small tough...
that small fan below to draw the air from gpu may not be working as well as u tink though... it may be fighting for air with the gpu fan so in effect reducing airflow over gpu heatsink.
your room may be quite hot too i suppose?
