As the title, have I hit the wall with the current hardware? (I'm thinking it's my ram holding me back? If it is which type of ram should I get for ocing?)

Try relaxing your ram timings to 2.5-7-3-3

Thx leg that helped to raise FSB to 288. Anymore windows locks during Prime95 torture test. Not to bad since it's Corsair Value Select, happy with it so far.

Do you know if it's my RAM or CPU holding me back? I would like to know for sure because then there would be no need to throw down $200-$400 for better RAM.

CPU temp. isn't a factor YET, running 49-50'C 1.575vcore on Prime95 torture test. Satisfied with THERMALRIGHT XP-90, got it yesterday. My old heatsink Vantec Aeroflow ran 61-62'C.

288 FSB is near the limit for your CPU. Unless you have sub-zero cooling.

But getting better ram would allow you to run at 1:1 instead of 3:2.

Awwwwwww feeling sorta disappointed, thought at this speed I would be happy lol. Enough is never enough, I'm officially addicted

Well I learned ALOT over the last few days lurking here, skimming over how to overclock and all. Awsome site, everything I was looking for. Going to try for world record with my next rig, give me few months to research/build :shoot11:

the strange things about records is that they are brokened nearly everyday, either by other overclockers or by stock processors ..
