after overclock hdd not detected? jiex Dec 15th, 08, 10:44 PM #1 (permalink)
hi i have a E8500 + asus P5KPL

when i set the clock to 411 x 9.5 everything works fine.. but i adjust to abit more like 412 x 9.15 the system can boot up but the harddisk cannot be detected.

does that mean my cap is at 411mhz x 9.5 only? anyways to work around this to go higher clock?

Yup, P5KPL doesen't detect sata drives if you reach a higher FSB than 410.
I had this problem too. It's because of the southbridge and PCIEX.
on p5kpl you don;t have the option to raise or lock the pciex to 100... and the board encounters problems... glitches...
