Mini Test Report : Team Xtreem Dark 1600C8 3x1GB Kit : clon22 Dec 21st, 08, 12:25 AM #1 (permalink)
Received this kit yesterday.
Did some test runs this afternoon.
Results ain't too bad.

Belonging to the Dark Series.
This kit is rated @ 1600mhz 8-8-8-24 2T @ 1.65v XMP ready.
Still retaining the same size heatspreaders,
but its now black in colour.

Tests were quite simple.
My bench components :
i7 920 / DX58SO / TX750W

1600mhz 8-8-8-20 1T @ 1.62v(bios)
8 instance Super Pi 32m :

1800mhz 9-9-9-24 1T @ 1.74v(bios)
8 instance Super Pi 32m :

2000mhz 9-9-9-24 1T @ 1.94v(bios)
8 instance Super Pi 32m :

Standard O/S with full drivers and applications installed.
They actaully primed @ 2K mhz without any issues,
but my cpu was too hot to save a screenshot.
I forgot to drop the multiplier again.

So what's underneath the heatspreaders?

Click the image to open in full size.

I couldn't remove them 'coz the thermal pad was very tightly sticked

Edit :

Ok, i tried to remove the heatspreaders again...

Eek!
Its actually D9JNM.
That's a nice surprise.
Guess I mede a mistake... hehe..

Especially good for value benching rams @ 2K mhz @ 1T.

For 200bclk @ 2:8,
1600mhz 8-8-7-20 1T @ 1.62v was good for 24/7.
Scaling higher required voltage increament.(CL 7 required 1.78v for me)
May not be ideal for some users but hey, its only Dark series.
BTW, the 6GB kit may not perform the same.
Do not take this as an indication of the 6GB performance.

Hope I get a videocard soon
so can do some 3D benches.

Er, how good is the D9JNM? I am a total DDR3 noob.

Running it thru' Micron database gets it reported as a CL9 DDR3-1333 only part,

Depends on the binning.. but mostly capable of ~1600c7, 1800c8, 2000c9 subject to voltage/mobo

micron only specs their ICs according to JEDEC specs i think

anyway clon22, what do you think of kingston's 3*1 ddr3-2000c9 1.65v @ $299.. looks like a good deal for ddr3-2000

I'm always curious about the chipsets underneath my rams.
Wow!
You have the board and some sweet HZs.

Wonder what chips are currently used in the Team 6GB kit?

I just installed windows server 2008 x64 w/SP 1 today.
I have say, i'm surprised by the results.
I can only say, only my Leopard kit survived all the tests so far.
Now i know what Kev meant.

probably cause xp 32bit only by default allows max 2GB addressable per application (i.e. why you need to run multipler memtestwin versions to use all memory).. while 64bit will test more memory as it addresses more per application
