ASUS A8N-E chipset voltage mod some pictures, Vdroop mod help jcdenton12 Jan 21st, 07, 10:12 PM #1 (permalink)
Hello guys
I found only thread about asus a8n-sli but pictures doesn´t work
http://sg.vr-zone.com/?i=1624&s=1
could you fix it please or send some new pictures

or is there between a8n-e and a8n-sli huge layout difference?
what to mod and how?
I am a soldering newbie so I prefer pencil mod if possible
thx

might it be one of those chips?

here are alternative links
http://www.laboratorium.ic.cz/foto/a...mod/chips1.jpg
http://www.laboratorium.ic.cz/foto/a...mod/chips2.jpg

so I have some new pictures that could help you to be able to help me
which chips might regulate chipset voltage?
where are measure points?
chip number on these photos aren´t same for me(these are from US version and I live in EU so tell me which chips and I will write what´s written on them)

Hello guys
I searched another forum and found this topic
http://forums.extremeoverclocking.co...ighlight=a8n-e
problem is that first link shows error 404 and vr-zone site doesn´t show pictures so it is hard to find ot where to mod
I also don´t think that a8n-e and a8n-sli has ste same layout using same parts

so If someone could send link or tell where to mod
I prefer pencil mod because my soldering skills are below zero:embarrase
here are some photos

http://www.laboratorium.ic.cz/foto/a..._chipset_6.jpg
these are the best I have so far but I will try to make better photos if needed

So after many hours using google I found this
http://www.takorautaa.net/show_artic...&page_number=1
it is very similar or same as guide at vr-zone.com
problem is that I don´t have soldering skills and solderer
Is there any chance to perform pencil mod to chipset?
and the other question is: measurement point
here it is shown but I don´t understand
I measure voltage between that mosfet and what? ground? or something else? (and it between mosfet and ground, where ground? case/molex connector/MoBo pad for screws?)
I realized that I need Vdroop mod because this Vcore graph mady by speedfan isn´t good I think

So help please to find out how to perform pencil Vdroop mod and pencil chipset mod please
I am sorry for my English but I have just been learning

So I edited first post
Problem is I can“t solder so I have to use Pencil or conductive ink pen

I was testing and this Vcore Droop is the thing I think is limiting me
For the test I was running 7x320 and about 30minutes of Prime 95 and it was stable so I think VDroop is limiting me
I also had to flash bios because with 1013 it failed to boot with 250+
If anybody knows how to work out Vdroop pencil mod and maybe chipset pencil mod please write here a reply
and Somebody could also explain that measure points to me

nobody can help?
the VCore regulator on board seems to be SC2643VXTS
I found a datasheet but only for SC2643VX
from what I have read I know I have to lower the resistance (to solder or pencil resistor parallel to caps) to make VCore more stable
I am right when I say I have to lower the resisten between feedback pin and ground?
or where should I lower the resistance
I hope you can help me to work out vdoop mod

I measured northbridge and Vcore voltages
northbridge was 1.554-1.556V idle and 1.556-1.562V load
Vcore was 1.434-1.435V idle and 1.439-1.440V load
CPU-Z showed Vcore 1.408-1.424V both idle and load
bios set to 1.4V
so I think Vcore measure point is wrong
unfortunately vr-zone com guide for this board has screwed up pictures so I don´t know where vcore read point is
If anybody knows, share your knowledge and let me know please
