i tried OCing my asus 4850 to 675/1000 using CCC ATI overdrive, after 5mins of normal usage(surfing web), VPU recovery kicks in.

why is it so?

CCC Overdrive does tend to cause such problems, try Rivatuner instead.

oh ok. anw how do i know the max clk to stop at using rivatuner?

U can google this out and see what are the others' setting.
You also gotta worry bout ur gpu temp. U dun wanna end up burning ur gpu.
