HEHE......I asked my teacher at school if they had anynew soldering, things (i dont know what you call the in english ) He gave me a Very nice ine with a damn nice Thin tip. And i went on a Vmded my Asrock DUAL SATA 2

Here is the whole procedeur.
You will have to use official Bios 2.10. Download it from the Asrock Site. It's better you use the Windows Update Version.

And after flashing with the new bios, you will have to Do the MOD. It's on the pictures below.
For you guys that cant find where this is located on you Asrock Motherboard, its located under the Upper Side of you AMD cooler.
The Solder points are pretty small so you will have to have a very stable hand while soldering.

Then after doing the mod, set your vcore up to 1.15 Volts. ( Thats right 1.15) When you do that, you will notice a noticable boost of your VCore up to 1.55 Volt. When you set it as 1.15V the Vreg code which is if i remember correctly 0110 is read as 1.55Volts

After all this you can enjoy a 1.55-1.58 Vcore
As i do....

Update 1 : At first usually the Vcore Mod has the problem that when you set it at 1.15V it is recognised as 1.15V instead of 1.58.
This can be fixed by Resetting you Bios or presing Reset while your Pc is Runing and to the point that it's trying to P.O.S.T.

2) If you are geting a Black Screen, meaning the Screen wont startup and the CDROM Led is flashing, press the CDROm Eject Button and it usually starts up after a few seconds.

3) If when you Start your Computer up and the screen is turned off again, press the reset button while it's running, and it should boot Fine.
In some Cases of Asrock Motherboards that have OCW 1 or 2 for some time you will have to do this every time you Shutdown your Computer and turn it on Later. Eventually if you flash to Version 2.10 which is until now in my opinion the best you wont have any of these problems except of the One with the Voltage Recognition Problem.

4) After you Flash to a newer bios, and try to set the Voltage to 1.15 it will most likely to recognise 1.15V as 1.15V. As said above, just try Reseting or Reflashing.

5) Even if you leave the Vcore mod on the motherboard it will have no Side effects.

6) And it is Reccomended you dont do the OTHER KNOWN VCORE MOD that is done with a 10K trimmer because it's most likely to Kill the VREG chip and make your motherboard useless.

2)
Here's another thing to do after you see the Vmod doesnt Work when you set it at 1.15V

1)Reset your Bios
2)Go into bios and set Mutli and Voltage Manually to 1.45. Save and Exit
3) Go into Bios again and Set FSB to 260 or something around those Values. Save and Exit
4)Again into bios and set ram to 266Mhz 2.5 3 3 7 2T Save and Exit
5) And then at last, try setting it to 1.15Volts.
If it doesnt work, just be a litle Patitent since leaving the Vmod on you Computer doesnt affect it at all if you are using any other Voltage than 1.15.

6) Try all the Following steps all over again instead this time at step 3) leave HTT to 200HTT.

Now for the Second Part where usually X2 Cpu's have problems.
From here on i can not guarantee that this part will work. Do it at your own risk. I got confirmed Results that this Vmod part works fine, use it at your own risk. Some people have used it and i works.
Here's what you do.
Connect VID3 with the Ground Next to it.

Click the image to open in full size.

And then through Bios set these settings.

And if this one doesnt work either, you can try any one of these Mods. Note that even if the Vmod doesnt work your Computer will still run Normally at it's normal Voltages.

If you have any of the Above problems or Questions, dont hesitate to ask.
I do not hold responcibility for any Damaged Computer Parts.

Hi
I tried the vcore mod using conductive paint. I dont think the mod worked at first try as when i set voltage to 1.100 it said the requested voltage was too low so i redid it and now
i've flashed my bios to 1.2, ocwbeta2, ocwbeta4 but it still doesnt work, either freezes at windows startup or resets the voltage to 1.350

i have a 3800x2

i have nb-sb link at 800mhz and 16-bit, nb-cpu link 800mhz and 16-bit ddr at 166 and when i put vcore at 1.100 (1.500) i get the BSOD and when i put it at 1.050 (1.450 ) it just posts the name of my gpu on a black screen. This only happens when i put it above stock

Did you flash to Bios 2.10?
Sometimes at first it does this, but it's tottally normal.
If that doesnt fix it, try a few combinations through bios until it works, and set memory to compatibility mode.
Here's what you exactly do.

When you set it through bios at 1.15 V you should see at the monitoring section that it says 1.58Volts.
If it says 1.46V then you didnt do the VMOd correctly.

An other thing to try is to, set it at 1.15 Save and EXIT.
and while it's starting up Shut it down in any way possible.
After this try turning it on, and when it trys to post press reset. This might help.

I know all this sound a litle Crazy, but trust me, i did most of these with my Asrock and they helped.

Another thing is, if your screen doesnt turn on after a n Overclock Attempt, and you see the Cdrom LED Flashing, then Press the button on the Cdrom.

If you have any questions PLS ask me, i will be glad to help.
All this might be a litle Crazy or too much, but usually on of these steps works for me when i sometimes have problems.

Thanks for your help
Ok i want to get this right so im going to post my steps here, if im not allowed tell me.
Right now im going to flash my bios from ocwbeta2 to 2.10 and if it doesnt work ill post again and try the other steps.

One question when you say "nd when it trys to post press reset" is it posting when its saying detecting the ide devices etc, e.g a black screen with bios info on top left, cpu and cpu speed below that?

o and i cant manually set 1.45 ats the vcore

Thanks
LunaMeister
Finally something good from Haxor_Lee after 700+ of posts!

ok ive updated the bios to 2.10

i dont know if its working but its on 1.100 and at 210fsb, 800mhz htt and 16bit but i cant really get into the bios setup

cpu-z says its at 1.350 though but bios says 1.100

im going to try change the clock and see what happens
angrypond
ok well it took me about 6 trys to get into bios setup because i kept freezing so i reset it back to defaults

this might be because i have a 350w psu could it?

o also "When you set it through bios at 1.15 V you should see at the monitoring section that it says 1.58Volts.
If it says 1.46V then you didnt do the VMOd correctly." it does
Haxor_Lee
The 350W PSu is Fine.
All you have to make sure is that you connected these EXACT POINTS.
Not the Ones above them.

Read the Guide again since i've updaed it with more stuff and if those dont help either.......Well.......PM me or Post back.

Also could you tell us what CPU you are using?
angrypond
hi im back
im using a 3800x2 and after reading your guide again i realised woopsey, i need to connect the vid3 and sng instead. is there any way i can undo it? and y is it vid3 not vid 4
thanks
Haxor_Lee
If you used Conductive paste.....Well, thats kinda bad since some people who did this Mod with Paste instead of Solder tryied to remove the paste but with no effect.

The Paste Still Connected VID4 with the Grounding.
When you Remove the Paste Be very sure that it's ALL CLEAN coz even a bit paste may Still connect the two points.

I'd use Ear Cleaning Cottons. Try those and Wipe it off.

heres what it looks like after i redid the mod on vid3

do you think this is ok?
