guys to check that if a memory stick is authentic sony just insert stick into psp, scroll to stick icon, press triangle and select information and see the Magicgate is written as what.

Supported means real
Unknown or corrupted means fake

gst is not yet 7%, now is still 5% until july.
export set is also tax by government, just that some of the specification is not suitable for singapore market eg. wifi radio frequencies and power safety, so cannot be use locally.

And out of curiosity, i went to chk out my psp's model number, it's PSP-1006 and not PSP-1006K, is there a difference ?

just for ur info guys, sim lim square level 1 has a lot of shops trying to scam ppl. I saw them selling "3.71 OE-C limited edition blue psp" which they obviously try to sell high, and they sell the R4(like m3 simply) for normal price but persuade u to buy a 1 gb kingston loaded with 30 games for 120 bucks.. 1 gb kingston cost 16 bucks now and look how much they are trying to scam u... they some more say what must pay developers to hack

K stands for black coloured psp

didnt bother looking at the shop name after seeing "limited ed 3.71 psp". Btw the shops on the fifth level seem okay though, they do not use those scam tactics as a shop on level 1. However i suggest to everyone to just buy hardware from reputable shops.. its always worth the trip and time =)

actually just dun buy from sls then wont kena le, there may be 1 or 2 shops there that dun scam but its 1 or 2 out of maybe a hundred. and maybe they dun scam YOU only but scam those who look not so handsome or a bit dai dai.

Haha...I got a personal experience to tell u guys.

Before my exams(2 weeks ago),I was dying to lay my hands on a new modded blue PSP.Initially wanted to get an unmod one(ver 3.03 and below) then ask my fren help DG.Armed with all the info I learnt from here,I was prepared (or so I thought) to get a good deal from SLS.To make a long story short...almost everyone down there tried to con me.All the tricks mentioned by LH including some new ones like quoting me the price without looking at my face and tokking abt all sorts of nonsense with regards to mod chip(Out of this world firmware).Got a joker even better come up with the no stock trick and another one tried to con me into paying 80 bucks for an original battery.However there was one shop with a nice chiobu who tried to explain the stuff she's offering me.Unfortunately she quoted me 335....which was way too high to pay for a mod blue set.In the end...I ended up not buying anything but the experience was incredible and these ppl will go at great lengths just to cheat the shit outta u.In a way it's gd that I din get one or else sure cannot study.However now exams are over...still looking for my blue set....but all selling at >330...sigh.So please guys...dun bother going to SLS>...wasted time...wasted trip...but I learnt a lot.

Just go Funan 5th floor, got 1 shop selling standard pack (all colors) for $275.
Not downgraded/customised though. Can easily find some1 on this board to down & customise for u for around $20 though.

And mod-chip? None of the shops here in sg install it 'cos it's way too difficult to install and illegal to add. Nice c**k toking by them with jargon stuff.

Junk SLS..full of BS.

To add on: Log on to playasia.com to get some "crappy game UMD" for the UMD emulation.
Think it cost only SGD$5

Cheapest orignal MS sticks I know are on 4th floor SLS, "Active Foto".
Don't get Sony, they are hella slow and $ex, get sandisk instead.
