Hi, this is my first time getting a dog, anything i should look out for?Any advise?

As usual, I recommend adopting. Numbers of abandoned pets increases faster than new adopters.

But if you insist on buying, then look out for the breeder who is reputable at least. The pooch should be a few months old (at least 2-3 months if you want to train yourself). It would be better if it is a little bit older and had been house trained since it is your first and you will need some help.

Have you decided on the breed yet? The breed decides what kind of crate to buy, what kind of food it needs, what kind of grooming it needs and what kind of training as the owner you need yourself.
