what is the trigger point of your asthma?Different asthmatics has different trigger events from what I know. My wife has asthma and we have 6 cats at home.

For her, her trigger point is more to dust rather than cat's fur but we make it a point to vacuum our bedroom everyday just in case.

therefore, it is not true that asthmatics are unable to keep pets at home but it depends on what triggers your asthma. if fur is the cause, then my advise is .. DON'T.

I had asthmatics when I was young too and now have a pom-spits dog mix.

As long as I do not go and purposely inhale the dog fur, I am save. Also it helps that I keep the dog clean and bath her at least once a week.

As long as you keep your pet clean, and do not let them onto your bed and food table, it should be ok to keep a pet.

yeah like wat everyone else here says, it depends on ur asthma's trigger factor. And having asthma is not a joke.. do use ur inhaler regularly like what the doctor prescribe and do check with ur doctor to find out the cause. If in doubt, then better don't keep any pets.

For proceeding with it, you will need to understand your problem well, like the trigger point, after effects etc.
