It may be noisier but there be flexibility. Just crank up the speed if you aren't getting enough cooling until you reach that sweetspot.

Thanks for all the helpful comments.
I saw this before I decided on the GTs + GTX combo.

And it seemed to me that the GTX could perform slightly better than the RX @ 1800rpm.
But then, of course, in the test it's a D12SH12 and not a GT.

Anyway I still have the chance to get 1x RX360/SR-1 for my other rad as I've only gotten 1x GTX360 right now.

Maybe I can run a GTX360 + SR-1/RX360 with the SR-1/RX360 on the side of the casing that is nearer to the user, in this case, me. Silent fans nearer, louder fans further.

Any comments on this?

Yea it's not really enough but due to the current insane HDD prices, I've decided to use one of my old drives as a temporarily stand-in.

Didn't put it in the list either.

Just remember these figures are strictly for reference purpose and the test is probably conducted in open air versus an enclosed casing for example.

The crux of the matter is GTX uses high FPI and you'll need faster fans for it to perform optimally. Otherwise, you might be better off with thinner and cheaper rads to achieve similar cooling results. In fact, my cheapo Swiftech MCR320 is less than 1d delta compared with your GTX at 1.8k rpm based on the chart.

A simple solution is to get 2K+ rpm fans to pair with your existing GTX if low noise is not a key consideration for you.

I've learn my lesson after using a variety of slow fans such as Yate Loon SL and AC F12 with BI GTS. My new Swiftech MCR rads and F12s delivered much better cooling performance even though the new rad surface has only increased slightly. From 480mm to 600mm.

Phil
Just chose the fan u like cos even u use the best fan base on review, u still need to factor in room temp and surround airflow. So afterall just turn on your aircon

I am changing the 1850s I bought out for San Ace PWM fans that at lowest setting are just slightly noisier than the 1850s.

Edit: And welcome to the VRZ CaseLabs club. I should start a CaseLabs thread

Using bi gtx 480, pair with gtap15, magma , appolish Vegas
Noise is not an issue, but dun really check there is how much diff in between those fan
Slip stream 1900rpm also, a bit louder that others

Considering to get lower fin per inch since my fan is all below 2k speed
Review is compare the noise with a few db and a few c,
Low noise with a few db diff nothing much
But the few c, is good to gain if possible

I did some testing with the rad for the suction of the fan
Coz I want to stack dual rad together
From the monster case that u have there, might need to consider the air flow inside the case?
The sequence of the flow wil determine which rad is hoter
And best is cooler rad at front case/ intake aide the hot rad at exhaust
Just my 2cents opinion
Btw gt bi, is dual pass rad, for gtx480, not sure is it the same as other size bi rad
Take note, the inlet and outlet which wol make some minor impact on that too

Cheer for wc rig

We should have wc club now????
I should stop reading review from now onwards
