CLICK BELOW TO JUMP TO THE NEXT PROJECT MOD OF MY RIG, RE-CHRISTENED AS

SILENTICE
EDIT: FIXED ALL BROKEN LINKS

Freeradical WS
A while back ago, i was thinking of making a workstation rig primarly for my music editing, video editing, 3D designing and photoshopping... But it didn really take off as i was upgrading my gaming rig instead...

So now after hunting around for some really good bargains... and scouting around for the items... ive finally setup my workstation system... however as with all my projects, it comes with a twist... ^^

So as important as its' funtionality, it also must look the part and sound the part... mainly sleek and silent... Therefore i have invested in a wc system (used but cheap) for the sole purpose of a silent cooling solution for the cpu and gpu... (as well as uv coolent and abit more cooling power when running oced)

So down to the worklog... Im sure some of you would have seen the following few pictures familiar... but no matter... got alot more new stuff added.. =D

So i hooted this TT Bigwater 735 + Aquabay res with flowmeter + Coolent Thermal Probe + TT Gpu block awhile back.. it was a used set, in so-so condition... so i got down to refurbishing it and lapping it...

Got all these for this rig over a period of time... Went overboard as i didn realise how many i was actually getting and how many i was actually going to use... ended up only using 1 of them...

Also Swapped out the stock led in the waterblock with my own custom made one... End result was a brighter, deeper shade of blue as well as fully sleeved wiring... (proper sleeving, not the black heatshrink u see in the pic below... refer to 3rd pic in the thread for the sleeved led)

Also Managed to recover and reused the PC ICE UV red coolent from my previous swiftech setup... The coolent was clogged with white stuff aka the thing that clouds tubing... which i later found out that was teflon tape (Pipe sealant)...

Strained the coolent several times and managed to save 90% of the contaminated coolent... end result was exactly that of a new bottle... completely transparent but with a pinkish red tint... heatpain to throw away $50 worth of coolent... lol

U can see how it looks like clear vs cloudy...

Anyway, was initially thinking of getting a bottle of pcice UV Purple or violet... cause i wanted a purple coloured theme to my rig... but somehow something told me to just test the uv red and see how it turns out...

By chance, i had gotten pvc tubing that was tinted blue, so when i added the coolent it... it was a violet colour rather then a pinkish colour... i actually had a sample of purple coloured coolent and when compared side by side... was almost identical... lol...

Anyway, there was one issue, this was a display set, as the other stock all sold out... it was in pretty good condition, but there was a bad scratch on the side window and it was very noticible... So i got down to fixing it...

Before: Scratch on the right side of the light reflection...

After:

Then got down and stripped the case of everything... Only couldn remove the HDD Bay as access to the screws to remove it was blocked by rivets... have to drill it out...

Think im gonna sand it before polishing as the finish not as good as i want it to be... though the reflection is not bad, when its seen in the light, alot of machining marks can be seen...

Ok... as for the fan controller, was looking for something that had toggle switches as well as variable knobs to control all my lights and fans... And came across this...

Click the image to open in full size.

However, the blue made it look kinda weird with a casing with black front panels, also, there was too much wordings on it, quite distracting... so i went to do some mods to it...

The final product.. ^^ gave it a nice, shiny finish as well..

Also went to cut the grill off from the front intake... reduce the noice in the case with whatever way possible...

I didn remove the hdd cage as i had to drill through some rivets, as as i was missing my rivet gun, i would have to get another before reassembling the hdd cage... so, didn wanna have to wait...

also polished the psu cover... (before on the left, after on the right...)

After setting up the loop and leak testing, i went to install the lights... just used some double sided tape to stick it on...

Some final updates....

Changed the sata cables from yellow to uv purple, added my optical drive in, as well as added the front fan in, and the hot swappable sata+4pin and 3 pin pci bracket... vary handy for swappind hdds and testing fans ect... btw, I NEED A NEW KB AND MOUSE FOR THIS RIG... lol..

Also took the pictures with my camera this time... only recently found out that it has manual focus.. lmao... anyway, this newer pics depict the real life look to about 95%... as we all know, most camers tend to make it look better at times.... like some of the below shots from my n95... makes it look more purple...

-----END OF PROJECT FOR NOW-----

BUT

Im tempted to swap out my thermaltake wc for a higher end wc loop... got a black ice gt 1x120, a cooltrek 1x120, an EK look-alike waterblock, and a MCP 655 (if i can find the impeller replacement)... might also consider a Quaddro card or a high end 7 series... or mid 8 series... but as for now, ill stick to this system....

Do look out for my gaming rig aka Red venom, its currently online but still unfinished... finally got all the stuff i need to get it done... so keep a lookout for it...

Dude. The 735 on high gets beaten by HSF's on low. So since you wanted a low noise setup, why didn't you go for HSF's? You could have gotten a second-hand one and saved some dough....
