I'm building a 3D benchmark system. Will be using it to test graphics cards. Using a fast PC means any limitations will be down to the graphics card alone.

Test Setup

Running Crysis with Crysis Benchmark Tool. Idle temp was at 61 deg, hitting to a maximum of 76 deg. Crysis was playable even at 1680 x 1050 with 4xAA.

That the end of result for BFG 9800GX2. It would be very hard not to covet this card. Great for the high resolutions and it isnt too loud either. But due the price, it will turn alot of people away from it. Only if people want to get Quad SLI and have some spare cash, this is a great piece of hardware.

* a single 9800GX2 need minimum of 550W and a second 9800GX2 in Quad SLI config need at least a 750W psu.

If you want Quad SLI, go for it. Or you only have one PCI-E slot in your motherboard and upgrading from a 7000 series Geforce (assume that you are Nvidia fans), go for it. If not, SLI 9800GTX are better.

Currently, brands like Gigabyte, Leadtek and XFX are selling 9800GX2 for 799SGD to 999SGD in SLS.
